I can tell you first-hand romance exists here, alive and well. I still get referrals for officiating marriage ceremonies as an MnF Justice of the Peace, and even now I don't think I'd say no.
As for me personally, I met Arty in a game like this. For months, I insisted on keeping real life and virtual life separate. There was a good stretch where I'd balk at giving someone my name on a place like Kik or Skype. And then I found someone so caring and understanding of my flaws. Who got me. She checked off every last internal box in my head. And I checked off hers.
So much for separation.
Although we've agreed to keep the relationship open until we can find some way to actually meet up in real life, not to mention work with our demanding schedules, I am still very often stunned when I think back about how all this started. I swore up and down that I wouldn't be long in a world made by the guys responsible for Meet 'n' Fuck: Tsunade Stalker when I first got here. And now I'm not just planning virtual ceremonies where people declare real love... I've found love myself.
Some of the relationships I've seen have crumbled under the weight of reality. Some have remained "power couples". I'm curious about where my relationship will go, but I have no regrets whatsoever about going on the journey I've been on.

JCF accurately depicted the situation... some relationships endure still, others have slowly wilted away, and a few have crumbled down rather spectacularly.
Just like Real Life, I guess
Despite my personal experiences here, I still believe (hence the "uncurable romantic" moniker) that finding love online is possible, albeit fraught with unique difficulties.... and unique advantages too. Ultimately, it's up to the two persons involved to make it work and carry the relationship forward - again, just like Real Life.
This being said, please excuse me - I have to go back to the game and my "happy-go-lucky bachelor" lifestyle
