Economy balance discussion
#21
I wouldn't really say people are mad at the time it takes to make some money more that people are mad at how varied and inconsistent the payouts are, not to mention the fact that for the most part yes the pay is a little underwhelming, for me myself I don't mind too much on waiting for something new to be added or whatnot in terms of a minigame/other way to make money, the bigger issue with this is that people are upset with the fact that they can't be willy nilly with their money in game anymore examples being no more large tips or heck even regular tips in general as a dancer in game anymore(even though I myself generally prefer just chatting with people when I dance), and while I'm not too big a fan of these in the first place auctions are screwed over as well by this, unless you're a prem who's got a fair amount saved up or a non prem even many people will struggle/not wanna do the tedious process to make money in a game that should be more of a good/fun experience and not spent with the person having to spend a fair amount of time making noney........not to say that it won't still be fun, but as it currently is either something changes or people adjust, you could also always buy the in game money but I reckon not many people wanna do that........I guess people are all just curious to see what'll happen, IF anything happens at all now since idk if the game economy is screwed up now or slowly VERY VERY SLOWLY on the mend, though for now I recommend people just calm down and wait to see what happens not much else to do afterall lol

Devs have removed the only way to create money. (Do not talk to me about the mini-games, they're ugly and boring, and you get almost nothing).
People keep their money, they give nothing to nobody! Thank you for killing the fun and the game.

Me and my friends are premium, we discuss whether to continue playing or not, if there is still interest because most of the game between players are suspended (no more cash). Most of my friends say that they have other things to do than mini-games here

GG Devs !

EDIT :
@Joanna_Smith "they have minigames allready for making money, you can work in the whorehouse too. You are all just mad it isnt as quick and easy as alt farming"

Ooh you are definitely right Joanna, if you like to have fun with pamela for 3 hours to have $ 1000... It is your choice! But it won't be our for me and my friends.
This is not the definition of the fun for me! I prefer to spend my time in room or with my friends,..

I agree with Vrook.  Once the cash was taken away from new users, the Devs should have mini-games lined up to replace income streams. Agreed a mini game with less than 10mins playing time rewarding $500 is reasonable.

Also reiterating some points that seem relevant to this discussion

I'll never spend real money to get fake money. It may benefit the Devs but it's no benefit to me. But to each his own.

I'm not attracted to the idea of using on of my premium avatars to alt farm for money because 1st off I would rather use that avatar for a variety of role play characters. 2nd ultimately alt farming is not the solution. It will eventually crowd the game with useless avatars. When the Devs decide to sell the game buyers will question all these fake avatars. 3rd alt farming has got a negative reputation and it will eventually be voted out but users wanting a better way to make money fairly. Alt farming is ultimately unsustainable. So I'm not going to use my premium status for farming. The Devs need to come up with a better method to make money.

To piggy back on Ivan's idea for premium user jobs, another idea could be to allow premium avatars to work the glory hole as an alternative to Pamela. It'll give the users a chance to pick Pamela or a list of premium avatars so they don't get bored with the glory hole. The premium user can earn a commission for each glory hole game that their avatar is used in. This same concept can be applied in the rodeo or shooting gallery.

Once apartments/house are available, premium users should be able to purchase the unit outright and be given an official method to rent it out to other users at a predetermined standard rate. This way premium users could earn rental income on the expensive apt/house making it worth the investment.

As some have pointed out, alt farming was NEVER an intended way of making money. It was an exploit. Now let me explain the problems with how things were.
First, the user numbers got extremely bloated when there were players with more than 50 fake accounts. Which is not gonna help anyone.
Second, trolls and such abused the fact that they could register with fake emails (which they no longer can because confirmation is required). Making it easier for us to stop trolling.
Third, the current value of ingame money is INFLATED. You are complaining about a lack of money, only because there are people that currently have HUGE sums of it. If that were not the case, prices on things such as escorts, auctions etc would undoubtedly become lower to reflect the new value of the currency.

Now, I agree that the minigames could be a bit more rewarding, and also more be added. So that gaining money would be less of a chore. I also spotted someone talking about daily/weekly "quests" which I think sounds like a rather good idea. Or lower the costs of stuff, either way would achieve the same thing.
And I've never been a fan of microtransactions, cause the price is always far above the value. I understand the wish/need for microtransactions though, but could agree with increasing the amount you get, rather than 1k for 1$, that feels very low, especially with how the economy currently is.

Also a big pointer. New players get their 1k on the first avatar. It's avatars made after the first one that don't get the 1k.

All in all, has removing alt farming fixed the economy? No. And improvements do need to be made to balance things out, somewhat.

Oh joy, someone reads and responds to my thoughts ^^
I do advice that the price on room rentals be adjusted a little to make sure people can still enjoy the main part of the game.
but the 3 hours for 1000 is a bit hyperboly i think, besides, the rodeo pays better. And as i said, with the removal of basically cheatcodes in the form of alt farming completely reduces the worth of money to begin with. That is why we see auctions where 20k is the minimum for some girls.
You say you spend most time with your friends, wich doesnt cost any money, so you dont have to play any minigames, and with the introduction of permanent houses somewhere is the future TM you will have so safe up just the once.

Basically, this makes sure the in game money is actually that, money. Just like real life money has a value that stems from its scarsety, people work for their money. Off course there is a minimumwage to make sure everyone can get what they need. So the economy in mnf needs some finetuning so everyone can still bang their hearts out (wich is the thing we need money for the most), and that people who earn their money someway can get luxory items like clothes and other stuff.

I am not saying you all just haters and whiney bitches who need to grind to have fun. But the point i am trying to make is that this economy was broken, just handing out free money, and that needed to change anyway.

@Jamie_SB Me, I have only 30k .. I will hold 1 week only with it!
@Vrook Yeah! we need a way to CREATE money effectively and easily

Me and my friends (all premium), we are talking about this very bad decision which have kill the fun and perhpas the game soon.
Prevent us from making money easily is a good reason to no longer enjoy the game, and stop the renewal of our premium account.
We just want money for have fun in room, tips at the pole dance, auctions or just clothes and hairs ! Just for fun !
I dont think that the user want to waste his time to work for ingame money after his real work... this is not relaxing. And if an user is bored, he leaves the game.

Right Now I'm saving my money, I dont take room or do auctions or tips dancer anymore. I no more help new player with room or cash.
I dont need a game which is boring me, but for relax and enjoy it.
Thank for kill the fun.

Best minigame to play (most profitable timevice) is Rodeo, but I think there's a bug in it. Time says 11.2s and hat is off. Player drop off and time get under 10s.....and no reward....!
Next is Shooting Range. Total score is divided by 20 and each game take under 4 minutes to complete.
Last is Pamela. Total score is divided by 10 and take around 9 minutes to complete.
It will take 40 min (for me at last) to make 1K+ with Pamela. No near 3 hours, if I played with Pamela for 3 hours each day, I would get at least 4.5K and more likely around 5K.
While Shooting Ranges is same tasks every time, Pamela is a bit tricky, since she don't get same "jobs" at same time every time.

I'm Premium and as such I expect to have it "a bit easier" than when I was nonprem. I'm in doubt now. Yes, I do have those fancy poses and sexy clothes, but my main reason was strip. I wanted to earn a bit more money than I did in minigames (No, at that time I didn't knew about alt farming, I just notice, that's strippers could get 500 pretty fast compaire to minigames). That source might disapear now or drop massive.

I'm not completely against microtransactions as such, but I do believe that main profit from game should be from Premium.
Chargeing 1$ for 1K is expensive. Very expensive and I dare to say greedy. I'm not going there!

Ok, everyone is really blowing up the amount of time required to make money. 5 minutes at the shooting range will get you a couple hundred bucks, and for 1000 at pamela it'll take 15 minutes. How is that any different from most MMOs where people grind forever to get money?

And out of curiosity, why is it so bad if people keep their money to themselves?

At the end of the day the devs are doing what they think is best for the game. They had the intent for people to have to play the minigames and now they are almost forcing us to do that. The minigames aren't that bad they just take time to get the money that you may want. Is it harder to get money now? Yes. Does it really take away from playing the game and what the game has to offer? No. It's making it more like real life where you have to grind at work and save your money to get what you want. Could some of the prices be lower? Sure, but I think if the devs do decide to do that it won't be till they think the economy isn't as inflated as it is now. We just need to enjoy the game as it was intended to be enjoyed from the beginning.

@Joanna_Smith "but the 3 hours for 1000 is a bit hyperboly"
@TheKing "and for 1000 at pamela it'll take 15 minutes"

Sure it's a hyperbole! I just want to show the absurdity of these mini games! I do not want to 'work' in this game after my day's work, to earn in-game money.
And I did not want to repeat these annoying mini games for several hours! I remind you that it is a little flash game, if I find more constraints than amusement, I leave it and that's all.
Besides, several of my friends (premiums) have already confirmed to me that they would not renew their premium accounts after having emptied their purse.
They do not want to (I quote) "suck c*cks with pamela for 8h" ... and me too !
