Economy balance discussion

They had the intent for people  to have to play the minigames and now they are almost forcing us to do that. The minigames aren't that bad they just take time to get the money that you may want. Is it harder to get money now? Yes. Does it really take away from playing the game and what the game has to offer? No. It's making it more like real life where you have to grind at work and save your money to get what you want. Could some of the prices be lower? Sure, but I think if the devs do decide to do that it won't be till they think the economy isn't as inflated as it is now. We just need to enjoy the game as it was intended to be enjoyed from the beginning.

Largely agree that the minigames arent as bad as some make it, but they got old pretty fast nevertheless ! And what some of you dont realize, its that its not a matter of doing it just once, we re gonna have to repeat it every day many times ! And just as many people think, my thought is that i dont want to do chores instead of getting laid here.

Also in a slightly larger sense, i really am uneasy with that equation between real $ and game money now. When it was all spending fake $ on buddies, strippers, hookers and beggers i didnt mind that much, but now, those "unequal" relationships feel a bit too real to me (even if we re talking about a very low $ amount)

As it is now, we have one passive job and it only work, if we're offline and we might even not get paid for it.
Yes I'm talking about Madame Olivia and her brothel.
There are two problems with brothel.
First we have to be offline and we can max "work" 5 hours.
Secund and worst, we "take" money from other players and in that progress half of money disapear.

I played with an idea for some time (and other have mention it as well).
There are shops and places allover, who could hire us for passive work, even when we are online.
Some places would only hire female, some would only hire male and some would hire both gender. Premium can get work everywhere, while nonpremium only have some places to work.

Any premium avatar can have 1 job. When avatar reach level 6, avatar can have 2 jobs and finally 3 jobs at level 9. A premium account with 6 level 9 avatars could have a total of 18 jobs. Finally will all avatars on same premium account work either they are online or offline and also work on all servers with those jobs they decided to have.
Let us take me as exsample. I'm a level 9 premium female, so I can have 3 jobs.

I like to strip, so I figure to take a job as waitress at "Bar Vodka", so I earn some money, when I don't strip, but owner refuse to hire me and tell me that I have to give him a fee of 10% of tips, I get when I strip, so premium males can get a payment for bodyguarding me (and other stripers). Bummer.....
Next stop is "Tuxedo & Evening Dress Shop" and I'm in luck here. Maneger tell me, that every time a girl on every server buy something here, I get 20$ for my work. Maneger also tell me, that only premium is hired. (Had I been a male, I would have got 20$, every time a boy on any server bought something here). I take a job there.
Then I visit "Hair Salon" an ask, if there is a job for me. There is and she will only employee females and offer me 10$ for every time I help her with any costumers (male and female). (Had I been a nonprem female, payment was 5$ for every costumers). I leave and have now 2 jobs.
I want to transfer some money so I rush to bank and when I get there I ask if they hire there. They do, male as guards and female as bank tellers, but only if they are premium. Payment is 2$ every time 1K tranfered is reached (but only from other accounts) and 5$ every time 1K is bought (including own account). I have my 3. job.

Between midnight and 1 AM game time, I get my payment for those three jobs and I get a msg, that show me, what I get from where. Now, when I read msg about my payment, would be a good time to change one or more jobs, since every new progress on jobs would be lost, whenever I quit and take a new job. In other word, an avatar can only be paid for max three jobs every day.

Difference between Premium and nonprem:
Premium get payment when online and offline, while nonprem only do, when they are online.
Premium get payment from all servers, while nonprem only get from server they are on.
Premium can have a job as level 1 and three as level 9, while nonprem need to be level 3 before they can have a job and when they reach level 9, they can have 2 jobs.
Premium only have restictions between male and female, while nonprem also need to be able to buy a service on a specific place to be able to have a job there (they can't work at "Toxedo & Evening Dress Shop, since they can't buy anything there) and there are a few exceptions more :
Nonprem male can't work as bodyguards at "Bar Vodka", since a nonprem female can't strip there.
Nonprem can't work at bank, since they can't transfer (for now).
Nonprem can't work at Hotel, since they can't rent suite there.

There are flaws in this and payment might need to be adjusted too.
I also think, that some jobs only could be occupied once in each Premium account. (Max one bodyguard at "Bar Vodka" and either one guard or one bank teller at bank, but it would be ok to have a male and a female working at "Toxedo & Evening Dress Shop", since they got payment from different sources).

Thanks BigBen.

My idea was to make it possible for all players to make some passive money.
Places where nonprem male and female can work should be equal in numbers, while premium males would have more places to work at, since premium female have strip. If male some day get strip option too, then premium females get more job option, like waitress at "Bar Vodka".

I thought about to make a list with all jobs, who that could take them and payment for them as game is right now, but I also think, that this list would be pretty long. I might however make a new thread with that and either link to my post above or write keypoints above list.

I also know, that nonprem won't get that many money since they need to be online and only get from server they are on.
But they would get more, than they do from brothel now and they still have brothel option, when they logoff. (Same with premium for that matter and brothel's "whore/gigolo part" will not count as a job).

Create money (not transfert cash from a player to another one) with passive work could be a very good solution !
You place your avatar in a job when you are not playing with it (like waitress, bouncer or others) and it creates money passively.
It could be a great solution for the problem of creating money in this game!
The problem here is not to transfer money between players for escort or dance, but how to create money. People do not want to "work" for hours on a flash game to have a little money.
So, the assignment of our avatar in passive work seems to be a very good solution !
Good idea mikoha

(Devs read it !)

Id like the idea of an avatar helping out the NPCs. what I mean by this is that everyone who puts there avatar in for "jobs" will get a hourly salary for being offline. up to 8hrs (a typical working day) and the current NPCs have another option, they can "refuse" (put a random % in the coding to make this) when you offer them the sex scene, stating "they have a rookie/new employee" that would be happy to take her/his place. giving you a random sex scene with a Playable character (currently offline like an NPC)
This gives a fun slightly random way to play the NPC sex scenes, whilst making passive money. (guys can stand the door at casino and baths and have a sex scene with them for females and maybe bath would be bisexual idk)

I play this game to relax, not to lost 1 hour with pamela or another unfunny mini-game to win 500$ ingame.

I won't lost my time to try to win a few money...

That's exactly my point, too (but I do find the minigames enjoyable in themselves).

The time I can allow to this game each day is extremely limited...to the point that spending some of it to earn money through minigames significantly decreases it. By the same token, participating in auctions (which almost always happen when I CANNOT be online) is out of the question for people like me.

What's left then? Farming (now essentially shut down for all intent and purposes), which I always used as sparingly as possible; or as I have suggested elsewhere, implementing in-game jobs that "happen" when one is offline, but with a fixed, garanteed amount of hourly revenue (think of something like whoring at madame Olivia's, but without losing 50% of the benefits and being assured that you get paid something).

As a Premium player, I think I am entitled to an easy way to earn ingame money that:
  • doesn't rely on buying it with my hard-earned real-life money;
  • can be earned by working offline on a virtual in-game job that pays a fixed amount of cash (of course, an avatar would be unavailable for play during the time it is working), as suggested by mikoha, Jamie_SB and others.

I think the simplest solution (in terms of work for the devs) would simply be to have the brothel pay out something like $10-50 an hour for a maximum of 24 hours per session (perhaps base payouy on character level). Maybe only one character per account to keep premium players from abusing it.

Then to reward premium players, give them $10 worth of ingame cash each time their charged for their subscription like most F2P games do. A premium code would just pay the lump sum when used.

Everyone has a steady income, the economy doesn't go crazy and it still encourages people to buy premium or buy in-game cash. Best of all it's way easier on the devs who are already working their butts off.

possible formula
((premium=50 or 100) + (level *10)) * working time in hours (max 8 hours) = amount of earned money

Add the limit of only one character at a time per account and I think that would work perfectly.
