"Privacy" issues
#1
Hello everyone Smile

I've been on this game since the Beta of it (even though I joined the forums very late Dodgy ) and I would like to express my opinion on a matter that's been bothering me for a while... It wasn't that much of a thing but I feel like lately, it's been.

As some of you may know, I'm generally hanging out on the smaller servers because I feel it's better to have some "niches" to talk with friends and have fun Big Grin  And until now it was pretty nice~ The people there were nice and everything was cool. Sadly, when it comes to having "personal" moments with someone, it can get quite awful. Let me explain Smile

More than once, and since I'm quite shy overall, I stayed with people I liked and generally stood with them in smaller servers. However, nowadays, people feel the urge of breaking into our privacy and are generally rude saying that we should get a room or even worse, just leaving the game and never come back (A prime example is the poledancing and the "private" shows). I do understand that and I do know that we could just buy a room for that. However, when no one has money and when everything goes well, we are in a right to think that we can have "private" shows. But this applies to all kind of private moments.

I do understand the idea behind the "get a room" constant remark. However, it is a MMO and a social game and people can enjoy some private time sometimes. That's why I think that when someone comes to us when we do something like that and say that he has the right to do so... I agree. To an extent being when it's bothering us. We aren't on the smaller servers for no reason after all Big Grin and we're not being rude by just saying "Please leave it's a private show" to someone.  So please, if someone is telling you that you bother them, please accept it and move on, because it is a social game before everything else and people can be embarassed or can actually feel bad by you arguing with them and it could lead to stupid provocations. There's no need to get mad and alert the whole MnF planet Big Grin Just move on and let them be. They are in the wrong by doing it outside but you are in the wrong for invading their privacy and bothering them after they told you so.  They are human after all.

If you managed to read until here, well congratz  Tongue And thank you for reading, feel free to share your opinion on this as I feel this is quite a matter on this game. I hope I offended no one and broke no rules or anything.  Bye  Smile

Well by saying  "Please leave it's a private show" is a bit out of your league since it's a public place. And when they say get a room it meant that you are doing something called PDA(public display of affection) which would gross out certain people. But when it goes out of hand its usually both sides are in the wrong because you did something that could have made people annoyed and he did'tn just stay calm and do something else. So its kinda both your fault. I hope I didn't offend anyone in this reply  Angel

That's what I'm saying, both people are in the wrong. I never said I was in the right either :p The reason of my post was basically someone trying hard to get us out of the game or shaming us (Basically talking about that in a bad way with saying names in a very crowded place like Beaver) just because it got to him. That shouldn't be a thing since we are both wrong on that. And the fact he keeps on going is what makes it really bothering. ^^

In short, public shaming for a soft PDA is a bit of an overkill to me Big Grin

Also, in that case, it was poledancing, so basically he had to come to us and enter the "pole dance game" to see us. In the public place itself, nothing was shown. So if he was grossed out by that, it's his own fault... He went to us ^^

Yeah it is just a game PDA. A porn game in fact...so PDA is just a word too weak to me XD
Also yeah its a bit overkill for something that small.

Glad we agree on that Smile  Of course I can understand that it would gross out people in public, which is why I really stay soft and since I'm quite shy, aside from hugs or kisses there's nothing ^^ But yeah, going all the way to the poles, he wasn't grossed out at all x)

The pole is a different matter. Since its a male watching female thing in which they see certain moves that are arousing.
But those lesbi love that they see gross em out hard.Mostly because it reduces the bang ratio I think XD

Thanks for bringing this up Oh_My.  I never understood people getting upset in a Porn game when a group starts RPing in a 'public place'.  How could that be a rule that you can't play in public?  If you don't like it, then leave.  I honestly EXPECT that sort of behavior in this type of game and i was surprised when a few folks got upset when we did RP in public.  To me this goes hand in hand with the PM's from guys that just say 'i want fuk u.'

The only thing i can think of is that they are jealous they aren't involved in the RP.  Yet, whenever we ran into this situation and invited the 'rude person' into our group we were met with scorn and more mocking.

Just like any other fantasy, having sex in a public place is a fantasy for many people.  Yet that fantasy seem to be one that is taboo in this game.

my 2cents.
Burning red, as blood rushes through my heart whenever there is you.

I obviously don't know how you approach it when telling people to leave. But I hope you ask in the politest way you can think of. Cause you have no right to demand it, and you clearly know it, I don't see a problem if you politely ask people to leave, and if they decline, accept that they are well within their rights. Now, you can't blame lack of cash, cause that's not anyone else's problem but your own. So either you get a room for the privacy, or you accept that some might watch.

Now, I think it also depends a lot. If people are there before you get there, and they complain about your roleplay, you are in the wrong. If you are there first doing rp and they come to complain, they are in the wrong. If you're there doing your thing and they come, they should either leave or let you do your thing. Cause you did get there first. I still don't believe that first comers can tell people to leave, but I also don't think newcomers should bitch about the contents of the chat.

If I come to an area and I don't like what's going on, I move on to another place. But if someone told me to leave, I would probably talk back. A public area is public, and I wouldn't let some stranger tell me where I can or can't be. ^_^

Also, not taking sides, just saying how I view it. Not judging anyone.

Thanks for your opinion first of all and I do understand it. I was polite and didn't get mad at first but when that person wouldn't leave and basically ruined our thing... I got a little upset indeed ^^

In the case of the poledancing, we were there first, and no one was really there outside of friends that knew about it. He came in out of nowhere when we were like 15mns in and "bitched" about that. We just said "It's a private show, please leave..." (Which is to me, not rude, I'm sorry if it is but I don't know what to say then) and the guy just stayed and said it was a public place and that he had the right to stay, hence ruining our fun.

Outside of the "You bothered us" aspect, he also didn't make a effort to understand the situation.. And that was the case lots of times...

But I do understand that Smile

Thank you Tavana for sharing your opinion too. I do agree with you when you say that when they are invited, they are not even trying to be nice or anything... Personal experience speaking here u_u

I see no reason why those involved in the group can't come up with that amount in a few minutes of glory hole (or using two alt accounts) other than you're being lazy and don't really care whether or not you run into issues.  When you really want to avoid all possible modes of confrontation, you do it. Otherwise, you don't really care.

If you want to clench your fists and still get to do all those things in public, then there's no "privacy" to be talked about...a public setting has no privacy. This doesn't go to say that it's ok for these people to intrude on conversations or ignore the obvious "closed group of people interacting" scene and barge themselves into your conversation but if it happens there's not much you can do about it except for the obvious drama and arguing.

The first time I saw a stripper on the pole I checked it out, and I was promptly told to leave because that was a private show. It was fishy to me but, I'm not a fan of arguing with people so I just left. There's no right or wrong way to act in this situation because, there's ways to avoid it and if you don't avoid it, then you're simply seeking out that complicated scenario of "get out" "no, you get out"

Personally, I'm not into seeing people RPing sex in public (soft PDAS and maybe even a little foreplay, sure! but full on sex? pass) mainly because everyone's style is different and they don't all evoke the same image. While I enjoy giving a blow job on RP I don't necessarily like reading about a girl spitting on the guy's cock so it slides down her throat easier.(I saw that happen at the Waterfall once and promptly poofed my pixels away from the zone.)

When public sex is already underway or starts and I'm there, I just move on to another area but this is when I wish ignoring people could be something done without the other party finding out. This way, if I don't want to see their interaction but stay in the area, I can just click ignore and they can go on with their RP and I can go on with whatever I'm doing.

However, I've seen people try this in public only to see them crash and burn and I have a friend that's told me about the sticky situations she's been into for doing it. So really, there's no way to win in public. Whether you're breaking someone's privacy or trying to ignore their actions, people will still get pissy fits.

Exactly and that's what I actually argue against. I'm personally against showing in public outside cuddles and kisses as said before. I'm more of the "I don't wanna bother people" or generally think that people don't need to see what I'm doing to my partner.

I do agree with you but I would like to clearify that money issue. Sure it's not a problem to get money, but in the heat of it, when your partner just want to give you a show, you won't really go grind money for at least 30 minutes or having to go through alts and then come back... I do understand that it is a personal matter and hence won't press the issue more but that's pretty much what happened ^^

As said before too, here it wasn't and "sex" in public but rather just a show with some *Blushes* and stuf involved. I would never go into full sex in public because I know it could gross out people (myself first).

But yeah, in the end, when it happens to me and when I'm prompted to leave, I just do simply because I respect their decisions and don't want to start a fight and break their fun. Maybe I think too much about the human behind the avatar  Tongue

Thank you for your comment anyways Smile
