My songs
#1
Hi guys, starting a new thread! Just a place for some lyrics, it can be English lyrics or Portuguese(I'll translate)... basically, a place for me to give wings to my imagination when i hear a song i like, the kind that makes me fly...
To start Mr. Robbie Williams, and the amazing COME UNDONE, a lyric that have much more than meets the eye!!!

So unimpressed but so in awe
Such a saint but such a whore
So self aware so full of shit
So indecisive so adamant
I'm contemplating thinking about thinking
It's overrated to just get another drink in
Watch me come undone

They're selling razor blades and mirrors in the street
Pray that when I'm coming down you'll be asleep
If I ever hurt you your revenge will be so sweet
Because I'm scum
And I'm your son
I come undone
I come undone

So rock and roll so corporate suit
So damn ugly, so damn cute
So well trained, so animal
So need your love, so fuck you all
I'm not scared of dying I just don't want to
If I stopped lying I'd just disappoint you
I come undone

They're selling razor blades and mirrors in the street
I pray that when I'm coming down you'll be asleep
If I ever hurt you your revenge will be so sweet
Because I'm scum
And I'm your son
I've come undone

So write another ballad
Mix it on a Wednesday
Sell it on a Thursday
Buy a yacht by Saturday
It's a love song
A love song
Do another interview
Sing a bunch of lies
Tell about celebrities that I despise
And sing love songs
We sing love songs
So sincere
So sincere

They're selling razor blades and mirrors in the street
Pray that when I'm coming down you'll be asleep
If I ever hurt you your revenge will be so sweet
Because I'm scum
I'm your son
I've come undone
I've come undone
I've come undone
I've come undone
I am scum
Love your son
I am scum
Love your son
You've gotta love my sad song
my love song
My sad song, my love song
my sad song, my love song
To be simple is to be great

Today i listened this song, an old one, one of the punk rock anthems, a cruel vision of the world, sad, but so true, it was true back then and is certainly even more true right now, with all the social networks, the cell phones, the Trumps, the Putins and the rest...
Ladies and gentlemans, The Manic Street Preachers and the amazing "Motorcycle emptiness"

Culture sucks down words
Itemize loathing and feed yourself smiles
Organize your safe tribal war
Hurt, maim, kill and enslave the ghetto

Each day living out a lie
Life sold cheaply forever, ever, ever

Under neon loneliness motorcycle emptiness
Under neon loneliness motorcycle emptiness

Life lies a slow suicide
Orthodox dreams and symbolic myths
From feudal serf to spender
This wonderful world of purchase power

Just like lungs sucking on air
Survivals natural as sorrow, sorrow, sorrow

Under neon loneliness motorcycle emptiness
Under neon loneliness motorcycle emptiness

All we want from you are the kicks you've given us
All we want from you are the kicks you've given us

Under neon loneliness motorcycle emptiness

Drive away and it's the same
Everywhere death row, everyone's a victim
Your joys are counterfeit
This happiness corrupt political shit

Living life like a comatose
Ego loaded and swallow, swallow, swallow

Under neon loneliness motorcycle emptiness
Under neon loneliness everlasting nothingness
To be simple is to be great

Edit: Some backstory on this. You've probably never heard of this guy before, as he was part of a local music scene in my area of the US, and he passed away in 2006. There are two versions of this song, the original with more of his punk sarcasm. The other was an arrangement done by his brother Michael, a cellist. More introspective, more brooding. That's the version I linked in the title, and the version I was lucky enough to hear live some years ago. But either way, a powerful reminder of how modern society can corrupt values once held to be sacred.

"Scarecrow" by Gene Severens

He was heaven-sent for the hell-bent
To change the ways that the sinners went
A simple man with only good intent
They made a scarecrow that only man could invent

The wise men came bearing gifts of gold
And TV sets and bibles to be sold
Three kings, they never went away
They made a scarecrow that's twisted and turned away

Good intentions always come too late
And rebels turn to patriots given someone new to hate
You gotta pay -- pay -- pay for your appetite
Well ain't no scarecrow gonna tell you what's wrong or right

Now they fill my head with messages of love
And a better way -- a better way -- through some god above
And now they scared away -- they scared away the dove
They made a scarecrow that scares away the dove
They made a scarecrow that scares away the dove.
They made a scarecrow that scares away the dove.

Thanks for sharing, JCF! I really liked this performance. Very raw.

My share is the first track on the first album I ever bought with my own money: Suede's Coming Up album.

Trash
Suede

Maybe maybe it's the clothes we wear
The tasteless bracelets and the dye in our hair
Maybe it's our kookiness
Or maybe maybe it's our nowhere towns
Our nothing places and our cellophane sounds
Maybe it's our looseness
But we're trash you and me
We're the litter on the breeze
We're the lovers on the streets
Just trash me and you
It's in everything we do
It's in everything we do
Maybe maybe it's the things we say,
The words we've heard and the music we play,
Maybe it's our cheapness,
Or maybe, maybe it's the times we've had,
The lazy days and the crazes and the fads,
Maybe it's our sweetness,
But we're trash, you and me,
We're the litter on the breeze,
We're the lovers on the street,
Just trash, me and you,
It's in everything we do,
It's in everything we do

You'll remember me
Everybody, summertime love
Be my lover, be my baby

Boys, boys, boys
I'm looking for a good time
Boys, boys, boys
Get ready for my love
Boys, boys, boys
I'm looking for the good time
Boys, boys, boys
I'm ready for your love

Stay around
The sun goes down
Babe I'm feeling right
Take a chance
With love romance
Have some fun tonight

Everybody, summertime love
You'll remember me
Everybody, summertime love
Be my lover, be my baby

Boys, boys, boys

Boys, boys, boys
Get ready for my love
Boys, boys, boys

Boys and girls in the summertime love
Summertime love on the beach tonight
Say hey, say you, say me, say what
Everybody has gotta car
Don't stop, don't move
I just get your body in the groove
I said hey, I said who
I said me, I say you gotta get in the groove

Boys, boys, boys
In the summertime love, in the summertime love
Boys, boys, boys
Let's summertime roll, let's summertime roll
Boys, boys, boys
In the summertime love, in the summertime love
Boys, boys, boys
Let's summertime roll, let's summertime roll

Everybody, summertime love
You'll remember me
Everybody, summertime love
Be my lover, be my baby

Boys, boys, boys
I'm looking for a good time
Boys, boys, boys
Get ready for my love
Boys, boys, boys

Boys, boys, boys

ahahahah. That's an interesting song eheh. Here's my contribution.

Immortals by Fall Out Boy

They say we are what we are
But we don’t have to be
I’m bad behaviour, but I do it in the best way
I’ll be the watcher of the eternal flame
I’ll be the guard dog of all your fever dreams

I am the sand in the bottom half of the hourglass
(Glass, glass)
I try to picture me without you but I can’t
'Cause we could be immortals, immortals
Just not for long, for long
And live with me forever now
Pull the blackout curtains down
Just not for long, for long
We could be immor, immortals
Immor, immortals
Mmor, immortals
Immor, immortals

Sometimes the only pay off for having any faith
Is when it’s tested again and again everyday
I’m still comparing your past to my future
It might be your wound, but they’re my sutures

I am the sand in the bottom half of the hourglass
(Glass, glass)
I try to picture me without you but I can’t
'Cause we could be immortals, immortals
Just not for long, for long
And live with me forever now
Pull the blackout curtains down
Just not for long, for long
We could be immor, immortals
Immor, immortals

And live with me forever now
Pull the blackout curtains down

We could be immortals, immortals
Just not for long, for long
We could be immor, immortals
Immor, immortals
Mmor, immortals
Immor, immortals

For today, some "latino" grooves, Maluma and the swing anthem "FELICES LOS 4" (happy all 4 of us) OH YEAH!, good 4 for them, i wonder who's the 4th element, but... i believe they know Big Grin Big Grin Big Grin Big Grin Big Grin

Maluma baby

The sun has barely come out and you leave running
I know that you'll think that this is hurting me
I'm not thinking about what you're doing
If we belong to other people
and this is how we care for each other

If you stay with me
Or leave with someone else
I don't give a fuck
Because I know you'll return

And if you spend some time with someone else
We are going to be happy, we are going to be happy
Happy all four of us
We'll make the room bigger for you

And if you spend some time with someone else
We are going to be happy, we are going to be happy
Happy all four of us
I'll take the deal
And we'll do it another time

And we'll do it another time
What we have isn't dependent on a pact
Enjoy and just feel the impact
The boom boom that burns you, that mermaid's body
Calm down, I don't believe in contracts
(And nor do you)

And every time she goes away, she returns to me
And all four of us are happy, it doesn't matter what they'll say, we like it like this

And every time she goes away, she returns to me
And all four of us are happy, it doesn't matter what they'll say, we're two of a kind

And if you spend some time with someone else
We are going to be happy, we are going to be happy
all four of us are happy
We'll make the room bigger for you

And if you spend some time with someone else
We are going to be happy, we are going to be happy
Happy all four of us
I take the deal
And we'll do it another time

If you stay with me
Or leave with someone else
I don't give a fuck
Because I know you'll return

And if you spend some time with someone else
We are going to be happy, we are going to be happy
Happy all four of us
We'll make the room bigger for you

And if you spend some time with someone else
We are going to be happy, we are going to be happy
Happy all four of us
I'll take the deal
And we'll do it another time

And every time she goes away, she returns to me
(Maluma baby)
It doesn't matter what they'll say, we like it like this
(Kevin ADG, Chan El Genio)
And every time she goes away, she returns to me
(The secret code)
It doesn't matter what they'll say, we're two of a kind
This is faith baby
To be simple is to be great

Hi guys, T's in da house!!!
OK, i've to admit, i'm a bit crazy about this song, the power, the feeling, tells me a lot...
what a great song and what a great lyric by Imagine Dragons
Ladies and gents---RADIOACTIVE!!!

I'm waking up to ash and dust
I wipe my brow and I sweat my rust
I'm breathing in the chemicals

I'm breaking in, shaping up, then checking out on the prison bus
This is it, the apocalypse
Whoa oh

I'm waking up, I feel it in my bones
Enough to make my system blow
Welcome to the new age, to the new age
Welcome to the new age, to the new age
Whoa, oh, oh, oh, oh, whoa, oh, oh, oh, I'm radioactive, radioactive
Whoa, oh, oh, oh, oh, whoa, oh, oh, oh, I'm radioactive, radioactive

I raise my flag and dye my clothes
It's a revolution, I suppose
We're painted red to fit right in
Whoa oh

I'm breaking in, shaping up, then checking out on the prison bus
This is it, the apocalypse
Whoa oh

I'm waking up, I feel it in my bones
Enough to make my system blow
Welcome to the new age, to the new age
Welcome to the new age, to the new age
Whoa, oh, oh, oh, oh, whoa, oh, oh, oh, I'm radioactive, radioactive
Whoa, oh, oh, oh, oh, whoa, oh, oh, oh, I'm radioactive, radioactive

All systems go, the sun hasn't died
Deep in my bones, straight from inside

I'm waking up, I feel it in my bones
Enough to make my system blow
Welcome to the new age, to the new age
Welcome to the new age, to the new age
Whoa, oh, oh, oh, oh, whoa, oh, oh, oh, I'm radioactive, radioactive
Whoa, oh, oh, oh, oh, whoa, oh, oh, oh, I'm radioactive, radioactive
To be simple is to be great
