Soldiers and military helicopters are at shooting civilians, seems like some of the people behind the coup has been arrested.
The reason behind the coup was that Erdogan has done a terrible job at preventing terror attacks, but I don't see how this is any better.
It also seems like Erdogan has Obama's support. So yeah, not too surprising if he gets to keep his role as a high ranking clown.

Well, with Erdogan running things, they're kinda driving their nation down destruction lane anyways... The fact that Erdogan seems to have won, makes me quite sad... I know non-violent coups are the thing, but I feel like they should've started it off by just forcefully arresting the leadership of the country.

Well, they couldn't. He fled the country and applied for asylum in Germany. He was denied.
As far as I know, the coup didn't really manage to do much, besides shooting civilians and taking controll of a news station.
or well.. "applied", he sought asylum at least. Begged for it, on his knees, I bet.
