It was used several centuries ago in England. A plaque was placed in a room/house with the abbreviations F.U.C.K (Fornications Under Consent of the King), it seems back then, when people wanted to have children they needed a special permission by the King
No, acronyms are really a 20th century creation. Have fun getting the Tipp-Ex off your computer screen.
Jason, the origin of the acronyms (maybe not with that name, I give you that) remounts to the ancient greeks, at least...
In the English language it's a very modern thing, some say wwI others wwII, but... there are some exceptions, one of them "OK" other "n.g."
As for the F.U.C.K. thing, I sold as cost me
