I hesitated for a good while before posting this.

Like all of us here, I have a real life outside of the game and the forum... and I am privileged to have a wonderful mate at my side. It is only fair that she gets to be my Muse too, from time to time.

A bit of warning... I reveal a lot about myself in this poem. I'm a little frightened it will scare away (or disappoint) some of my friends here. If it does, I will respect their decision to cut all ties with me.

Here goes...

J’oublie souvent combien tu es exceptionnelle,
D’une grande ouverture d’esprit, tolérante
Aux différences; révélant une si belle
Imagination ô combien surprenante
 
     Dans tes propos quotidiens, tout en demeurant
     Pratique, efficace et toujours rationnelle…
     À mes yeux ces atouts, ces charmes sont autant
     De raisons de te trouver, mon amour, plus belle
 
Que jamais, et de mesurer combien je suis
Privilégié de t’avoir, toi, à mes côtés;
De pouvoir compter sur toi, le jour et la nuit,
D’être la mère de notre enfant adoré…
 
     Je t’aime tant, n’en doute pas un seul instant
     Je t’aime telle que tu es, mon cher amour;
     Si tu veux bien me supporter encor longtemps
     Je serai à toi, maintenant et pour toujours.

Well I'm going to need a translated version but read it a bit and from what little I understand it's beautifull and very sentimental

I would like a translated version as well, my French is very limited. I do know how to read it, even if the words mean nothing to me. And it does sound quite beautiful at least. ^^

My goodness, the feelings are intense and it reminds me of famous French poets.

Upon reflexion, perhaps I should post a loose translation in the thread... of course, the result will be devoid of rhymes. I've left the overall structure intact, however.

I often forget how exceptional you are,
Greatly open-minded, tolerant
Toward diversity; revealing such a beautiful
Imagination so surprising
 
In your daily sayings, while being
Practical, efficient and always rational…
To my eyes, those attributes, those charms are so many
Reasons to see you, my love, as more beautiful

Privileged to have you by my side;
To be able to rely on you, day and night,
To be the mother of our beloved child…
 
I love you so, don’t you ever doubt it

That is stunning. Your lady must truly be special, to inspire such words. And she is lucky also, to be the object of such affection.
