Economy balance discussion
I just wish to say that alt farming was always a glitch and illegitimate way of earning money. I don't consider what premiums get, 1000 a day, to be alt farming. I mean when people made 100s of accounts to make tons of alts daily for money. This was not intended, and was a highly discussed issue back in the day, I know cause I was a moderator during that time. It was tolerated while a good idea was being made on how to remove it. No one is gonna get punished for having done it in the past. But it doesn't make the money they made any less unintended. I'm not trying to shame anyone who did it, I'm just explaining it out of the perspective of moderators and devs.

And yes, you could argue that MnF money is worth nothing, just like you could argue that any currency in the world has no value. But people using it give it value. Personally, MnF dollars have no value to me, yeah, but the fact that people are selling and buying real things using MnF dollars, it does have some sort of value. And inflation is when the value of a currency drops, and in certificate trading at least, the value of the MnF dollar has dropped, significantly.

Edit: I agree that there could be a nice middle ground for free and premium. But there's always gonna benefits to premium, since people need to be enticed to getting it. Could it be better handled than it is now? Definitely! I don't know how though, but I see some good ideas.

Edit2: I saw some mention it, and yes, money sinks. This game is lacking viable money sinks.

I don’t think that there is an economy problem;  I have given my reasons before.  But some do and it comes up even in thread on sex poses.  If there is a problem why is this thread not more active?

I would put things in a different way to Emmie but I basically have to agree.  Most interesting point was money sinks;  but isn’t the house a kind of money sink?

I will come back to Charlie’s post.

It was me mentioning the word economy on the sex poses thread. I just mentioned that by adding more free public sex venues like the shower will reduce the demand for paid venues (hotel, ap and houses) even if ever so slightly.
A simple economy like the one we have in MnF is all about offer, demand and availability of currency. If people find some clothes or a house or a background too expensive, they don't have to buy it. This is more true with backgrounds and in game prem codes where sellers can adjust their prices.

I don't see we have a big problem with he economy. The only thing that I believe is important is that all changes ensure the game is profitable for its owners - if it is not it will end eventually.

I like the suggestion of a side advert for non-prems. if mnf were able to do this, maybe they could unlock some premium items for non-prems.

Perhaps clothes could have premium colours, like hair does.

Also if advertising was used to fund non-prems, then maybe former premium players could be allowed to use any premium item they previously bought after they revert to being a Non-prem Player

Ok, exp should not be a currency and here it acts as you suggest.
What is exp issue?  Spending exp on a pose only reduces shown exp not total gained so does not affect levelling up;  so gold coins solves a non-existent problem.
Rewards for levelling up would better be given like entry to baths is and daily rewards, at any meaningful level, could be farmed.
I think non-prems should have some things released to them, preferably on a level basis so they play but a gap between prem and non-prem has to be pretty wide.
If gold coins can be spent like $ I don’t see point.

You said exp system needs some tweaks.  Being discussed on Suggestions Sub-Thread #3 - The Rest but very little interest.  Maybe you could add something.

I think that problem with side banner will be limited number of people (with big budgets) wanting to advertise on a sex site.  But maybe someone like pornhub.
I think that some things should be unlocked anyway, preferably on a level reward basis.
I don’t think that you could unlock all clothes on a prem colour basis.  No one pays for prem to get prem hair colours.
I think if you could carry on using old prem items then renewals would plummet.

The only reason I mention this, is because of the dropping of Vendo due to the new GDPR law in Europe, a lot of Premium players may not be able to purchase premium anyways.

I don't know to what extent and with what goal in mind, but the devs are dealing with it. Hopefully for the better of EU. xD

In that context it is a good suggestion, on a temporary basis.  Maybe it has to be limited to prems that have expired since the Vendo problem as there are prems that have long expired.  Not sure if system could cope with that though.

It would be interesting to learn how many players have been affected by this problem.

I often have a few 100k in game cash...I have given away apartments, houses, outfits, etc. to people without the cash to get them. I once gave a guy with "Homeless" in his name, the money for an apartment... The game actually allows for one to lay their role and have fun with it. I would hate to see a cap on cash earnability/possession. It would kill philanthropy. Just my opinion.

I think there is a misunderstanding about how $$$$ are made by the owners of the game. The bulk is made through the sale of premium subscriptions.

My friends list is shrinking because you continue to ban players who play the mini games and use something to play it at a higher level. You reply to them that they cost you money in the form of lost revenues from the sale of in game cash.

Do you make money when I buy a premium certificate and sell it to them?

Do you make money when I buy a premium certificate and give them to friends?

You can find a plastic surgeon to reattach your nose that you cut off to spite your face.

However I can't get my banned friends back so I have no one to sell premium certificates to and you aren't making money from me unless I'm buying codes to sell to them. Be careful what you fix and try not to break things.

Just saying :-)
