Economy balance discussion

essentially I'm promoting reasonable in game solutions for income that can diminish the need to abuse loopholes. Then the devs can close the loopholes with less concern of user backlash

People would just donate sperm with alt accounts/avatars....
Honestly, the best thing the devs can do is to increase the payout by x2 for all the minigames AS WELL AS making the games co-operative/multiplayer, that way grinding is still there to get things, but it takes half the time, and its more enjoyable because your playing against your friend.....

The basic premise of my ideas is that the Devs would close the loopholes of profiting from alt avatars 1st. Then the sperm bank would only be available for genuine avatars. It may end up being premium avatars only as a means of limiting the alt farming profiting at the sperm bank.

I totally agree that increasing the payout as well as closing the loopholes is great solution.

Of course, adding new minigames with higher payouts would work... in theory if not idealistically. However, as this thread and I have mentioned earlier there is now a so-called "economy". This would just give rise to prices from natural in-game sink holes like future housing, outfits, cash poses and whatever else ends up being implemented. Not to mention other prices such as apt designs and code sales would be rising on the basis of inflation(this WILL happen). This is not a problem that would be solved by throwing money at it (literally). It doesn't matter if said loopholes for money farming are patched because then these so-called higher payout games would be farmed instead and we're back in square one with lots of money and rising prices. Nothing changes.

Playing the economy game is nothing but a viscous cycle. event/cause>effect(problem)>"solution"(event/cause)>effect . This is a bit simplified, it's essentially what I see happening.

The best solution in my opinion (albeit radical, so brace yourself) is to nip the problem at the source. Find a way to eliminate the artificial economy that the game has established until a better solution is available that would allow for an economy.

Once again like before, I would like to apologize if my post offended anyone. I had opted to cut back on my closing statements as I felt that I was beginning to sound biased and pointing fingers, so I refrained from continuing my thought and stopped at a reasonable point.

Hey, Zephyr,

Thanks for remembering about the priority updates list I made a while ago, thought people had already forgot about it. As you may have seen, I haven't been posting since the second suggestions thread, mostly because I felt (and still feel) the devs aren't even paying attention and they are making their "way" to update the game. I have been reading the threads although, and I'm looking forward to the commuity cooperation, dividing the main suggestion thread is a good way to organise for the devs to "understand" better, I just hope they update the game more often or at least make a good package of new things (5-10 poses, 5-10 outfits, some sextoys, things to grind so it makes the economy/exp more fluid) for the game per month, while solving the economics issues that there are, of course. Anyways, keep working on the forum's threads, you are doing great, just hope the devs comunicate more this time now that they have the main issues divided in threads.

I'm gone for now, keep it up, and don't forget to encourage MnF members to visit the forums!

Good to see Charlie is at least following.

There seems to be two trains of thought on here. One that there is an economy problem and the other that there is not. Before suggesting a solution I think that a problem has to be identified and suggested solutions analysed for their own problems.

Some say people should be able to make as much money as they can but still suggest price caps. That does not make a market and seems contradictory.

Outfits generally cost only a half hour in mini-game. Apartments are long term. Code scamming and reselling designs is wrong but came about when easier money became unavailable. Evidence of inflation is not robust.

Can’t see Devs giving $1k per day in Sperm Bank but it still looks similar to alt farming. Interest on money rewards those who alt farmed.

For a non-premium player there are a limited number of poses and clothing options available so other than motel fees expenses are limited.  

For premium players you have access to a lot of things if you want them.  Once you get your apartment you really don't have expenses unless you like clothes and sex toys.  I don't see a problem with the game economy.

The cash purchase price of the game subscription has remained the same.  Demand for subs paid for with in game cash exceeds the supply so they are expensive.

Need to make a post to keep thread active.

When money was easy to get I bought a lot of outfits;  most not worn.  Now I am more circumspect and it has not spoiled game.  Could still buy most outfits in half an hour in rodeo.

So what is problem as Jenna-X asks?

This exactly what I'm talking about, not trying to point fingers, but the 'economy' only seems to exist, when we're talking about code sellers/ players making in-game transactions with other players. So basically, the economy doesn't actually exist, but more that it exists so that it can justify code price fluctuations. I feel that they should just get rid of 'codes for in-game cash sales' as that's what seems to be the biggest incentive for cash farming via legal and illegal methods right now.

If anything, since a lot of excuses I'm hearing about why players don't buy the premium with real money is because of the payment methods restricting countries, the staff should just do a overhaul on code sellers and make the most trusted act as paypal payment recievers then send the code; they could even just hire a person on the team to do that and cut out the player/middle guy altogether.

So yes, there is essentially wouldn't actually be a problem with 'too much money or botters ruining the economy' if the economy doesn't exist in the first place. You can bot/farm cash until you're blue the face and end up joining the party of people that quit after they've bought everything.

tbh, you can say that the item prices are a indication/reflection of the amount of money in the game, but if you don't look at it too deeply, the high prices could just be a basic game tactic to implement long term goals which then in turn makes people stay in the game and play longer, no other special meaning.

I don’t think code selling even existed when you could alt farm. Code selling at least gives those without credit card access an option.
